Of all the custom builders Grace Bicycles works with, the artisans at Independent Fabrication are who we feel closest to in spirit. Many can craft a frame with precision, but few do it with as much verve and pride as these builders from Newmarket, New Hampshire. IF not only builds custom frames built-to-order, they also give back to the cycling community through sponsorship and advocacy. Pride of ownership is their incentive, and the proof lies in their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the quality of the ride.
Every frameset that IF builds is custom. This means IF and Grace Bicycles work together to gather as much information about you as we can, from body measurements to existing bike measurements, how you feel about your current riding position, and how you want your IF to ride and handle, then build a bike that is centered around YOU. The result is a bicycle that not only fits you, but reflects who your are and your passion for cycling.

Corvid
IF set out to develop the Corvid with two objectives; 1) no compromises in our full custom philosophy, and 2) make it distinctive, both visually and technically. Steel Factory Lightweight
An exercise in maxi-minimalism; the Factory Lightweight pushes the limits of modern steel. Every aspect of this frame has been dialed in to maximize its potential. It may be the lightest frameset we make, depending on the rider-specific tubeset and geometry. The tubing is so thin on this model that we purge the inside of the frame, through a series of drilled holes, to assure the highest quality welds.

Club Racer
Load it up or strip it down; the Club Racer offers versatile performance. This frameset incorporates traditional road bike geometry coupled with all of the options for light touring. It is designed for long-reach caliper brakes to accommodate fenders and slightly larger tires. The Club Racer makes an excellent commuter bike, rainy day trainer, or light-touring rig. Its rider specific geometry is available in steel or titanium.

B.E. already had a stock steel Crown Jewel, but he wasn't entirely satisfied that it met all of his needs. Therefore he opted to have a Ti Crown Jewel built to his specs, right down to the more aggressive top tube slope and paint job.
When B.C. isn't riding his beloved mountain bike, he is riding (and loving) his steel Crown Jewel.
M.L. went from his old steel Schwinn to a beautiful Steel Crown Jewel.
J.M. is one lucky rider. He purchased a raffle ticket. the proceeds of which went to support I.F.'s racing team. The result? J. was the lucky winner of a custom steel Crown Jewel SE!
B.R.'s XS shows off the IF crew's beautiful workmanship and painting skills.
B.S. wanted a bike that he could take with him on his frequent business trips. Thus, S and S couplers made sense on his Steel Crown Jewel.
B.E.'s custom Ti Crown Jewel was already pictured earlier on this page. B.'s next project was to build a steel Deluxe hardtail. Actually, he asked it to be a fully rigid bike with a custom rigid IF steel fork. This bike is a throwback to the late-eighties when the IF welders were building Fat City's frames.
S.T. has a cool job; he is a mechanic who works on the amphibious vehicles that Boston Duck Tours uses. He is a fixture at Charles River Wheelmen rides. Because he rides thousands of miles a season in all kinds of weather, durability was key. The Ti Crown Jewel fit the bill.

A.M.'s Steel Crown Jewel has S&S Couplers, making it an ideal everyday bike can can easily travel with him. His riding buddies don't like it, though, because it just made him faster.
